I was standing so close to you with my hands wrapped around your face. I could feel you breathe on my neck while I breathed onto your perfectly grown beard in reaction. My nose caressed your nose playfully and my lips led the way to yours skillfully. All that surrounded us was blurred by the steam of the falling raindrops that clashed on my head so quickly yet desirably. We were having a moment of utterly organic euphoria that only true lovers who have sworn to unconditional love could have, and only those with the memory and will to imagine could recreate. With the chills in our spines intensifying each moment that passed, we drew closer to the collision; we felt the urgency to kiss as if the fate of all humanity fell on our backs and burdened us with the need to answer nature’s call by producing enough loving energy to build a bridge strong enough, long enough and miraculous enough to reach the gates of heaven where all the rejected love and banished peace resided. I knew the time had come when I couldn’t hold my desire back anymore so I prepared to take the initiative in kissing you but the growing coldness of the raindrops became a distraction and suddenly a source of anxiety that produced a harsh impact of reality that demanded a response and forced my eyes to be opened against my control.

At present I absolutely want to paint a starry sky. It often seems to me that night is still more richly coloured than the day; having hues of the most intense violets, blues and greens. If only you pay attention to it you will see that certain stars are lemon-yellow, others pink or a green, blue and forget-me-not brilliance. And without my expatiating on this theme it is obvious that putting little white dots on the blue-black is not enough to paint a starry sky.

The morning light pierced the darkened bedroom to play deliciously on the wall. Through venetian blinds its golden projection brought with a delight, waking the girl who slept on the bed.

Outside the window, below in the soon-to-be busy street, life was beginning. Vendors carted their goods along the road, heading to market. Shuttered shop fronts rattled open, traders and commuters greeted one another. Birdsong mixed with distant car horns.

Stirring under her sheets, the girl felt her body tingle as she opened her eyes to see the illumination within her bedroom. She studied the objects on her dressing table, each lit periodically by the horizontal rays. She sat up and moved to the bottom of the bed, wrapping her covers around her.

The items nearest the window received the light’s most vivid attention – a perfume bottle, hair brush, jar of moisturiser and a jewellery box. Behind them a lip stick, pot of moisturiser, mascara applicator and a packet of cigarettes struggled for the light like young trees in a forest competing for the remnants of the beautiful glow making its way through cracks in the canopy.

She cracked a toothy smile and gave a little squeal of overwhelmed delight, expelling the last vestiges of sleep, before letting herself fall back onto the mattress’ soft embrace. Closing her eyes, she revelled in the comfort and warmth provided by the bed and the satisfaction of her surroundings. Such miraculous beauty, she thought to herself, letting the noise of the outside world drift into the room with the sun’s light. Moving her bare legs slowly, enjoying the sensation of her skin on the soft cotton, she hugged herself contentedly.

Her room was quite conventional in most respects. It consisted of four walls with a large window dominating one side. Oddly, however, there was no door in the room but she was happy in her environment. She had furnished it with the double bed and dressing table, and a large wardrobe and chest of drawers, both overflowing with her clothing and spilling onto the floor. A portable record player sat in one corner with a pile vinyl LPs alongside. Next to the bed, amongst an array of clothing on the tiled floor, was her laptop computer and camera.

She could tell it would be another wonder filled day as she lounged luxuriously in the bed. Instinctually she moved her hands moved onto her legs and the sensation of skin touching skin, combined with the gentle rubbing of the soft cotton, caused her to shiver with excitement. As she rubbed the inside of her leg with one hand, her breathing grew heavy and she licked her lips before gently biting her bottom lip.

Taking a deep breath she stopped herself, again sitting up and this time throwing her legs onto the floor. Happy thoughts filled her mind as she picked up her camera. It was heavy in her hands and its hard plastic case was cold from the recently departed night air. Her slender fingers ran down the grooves of the lens and let them move across the buttons and dials on its top. Such exquisite beauty deserved to be captured, she decided.

Looking in the mirror she noticed the light’s play across her face and body. The horizontal beams embraced her facial features and accentuated the form of her breasts, shoulders and hips. She lost herself happily for several moments as she studied the girl looking back at her.

She placed a record onto the player and set the needle before dancing herself to her wardrobe.

The wardrobe bulged with clothes. They hung from racks and were piled at the bottom in bags as well as beingwere piled loosely. Despite the chaos she knew what she was looking for and roughly where to find it. A pair of blue denim jeans and a tight fitting white t-shirt were extracted and she put on a white bra and a pair of thin black underpants. She stepped into her jeans and pulled the top over her head.

Picking up her camera and moving back to the mirror, she altered the device’s settings to perfectly capture the glorious parallel beams of light coming through her curtains.

First she took several photographs directly in front of the glass, enjoying the way her breasts gained added prominence with the light curving around their full bodied roundness to highlight their shape and size.

Stroking her long brown hair, she moved it to one eye, allowing the light to sit on the other strike her face. Her nose acted as border and one brown eye looked thoughtfully back as the camera’s shutter clicked again to capture full pouting lips. Another was taken with eyes closed and one as she stood to one side.

Seeing the pictures pleased her and she moved to the back wall next to the bed. She stood facing the window so that only half her body appeared in the glass’ edge. She took several more photographs, moving her head quickly so that her hair flew up for the camera. Her easy posing gave the impression of someone being suddenly surprised by another person entering a room they had been occupying alone. She knew her long legs and shapely hips, along with ample breasts and flowing hair were an example of exceptional female form. She moved a hand onto one of her breasts and felt them swell with excitement.

As she walked slowly back to the dressing table she took a series of shots in which the camera obscured her face. She enjoyed the anonymity of such pictures with the lifeless camera appearing as an extension of her body and its imposing presence.

She unzipped her jeans, slightly pulling them down to expose the front and side of her black underpants, along with a portion of the silky skin of her upper leg. The next photograph captured just this image, framing only part of her stomach, hips and open jeans. She found it almost unbearably arousing. Struggling with the camera’s weight in one hand she moved the other inside her open jeans. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, she composed herself and took several pictures. The eroticism was undeniable and her passion became palpable.

She moved to the bed, placing a hand between her legs, slowly moving her fingers as she pressed and felt the heat emanating from her body. She was unsurprised to feel moist evidence of her excitement.

Her hand moved faster as she remembered him, the love they had shared and the love they had made. She knew he would come back to her. He would find his way in and they would inhabit the happy world together. She lost herself to the ecstasy, her back arched as her heart hammered within her body in climax. She dropped back onto her pillow and caught her breath before falling back into a deep sleep. Dreams filled her mind and she floated from the room’s window into the street outside, moving above the people’s heads in the beautiful morning light.

He is the strongest person I've ever met; he lost his wife five years ago, and two months ago he lost his only child, my dad. He has taught me to be strong and never give up, always smile...I love you grandpa x

Like a hunter watching its prey he sat in the café window, eyes always on the street. Darkness had arrived in wintery gloom and the cobbled thoroughfares, shining in the rain, burned in the orange glow of street lamps.

People darted this way and that, hurried movements displaying their displeasure at having to make their way home amidst the wind and sleet. The city’s offices and stores had closed for the day and few people minded to stop in at the coffee houses and restaurants; the primacy of a fireplace, and simple delights of a hot meal and warm bed, enough to dissuade them from potential distractions.

Standing up he pulled his heavy coat about him and put his hat on, throwing two coins on the table before moving into the street. Embracing the chilled wind he let the sleet hit his face. For a moment he closed his eyes, arching his back, and breathed deeply with satisfaction. Nothing like cold night air to remind you you are alive.

The traffic in the street had thinned somewhat and he made his way past the elegant buildings with a casual gait, seemingly walking with no purpose or direction. In a darkened laneway the rain and snow swirled in the wind. Pressing on, the noise of boots and walking stick on the pavement were amplified amongst the sudden solitude.

Emerging onto a quiet street at last, he spotted his quarry. She stood amongst the closed shops, huddled in the shelter provided by an entrance, just visible through the weather. A comfort to lonely souls adrift in the night, on offer the warmth of a woman’s touch and solace between her legs. Despite the empty street she hadn’t spotted him and, having stopped to watch her from the distant shadows, without the click of his walking stick or fall of his footsteps he felt surrounded by the deafening silence. His discomfort could not prompt him to make his approach as he continued to observe from the shadows.

Not aware of his presence, she stood with narrow shoulders hunched against the cold, peering into the street. A shawl wrapped around her upper body and a long skirt offered little protection from the cold. Thin clouds of vapour escaped from her lips into the night. Although he couldn’t make out her facial features he guessed she was a ripened young age from the curves in her body.

At last he stepped forward into the streetlight and began walking towards her. She was immediately aware of his presence and moved out from her shelter into the street, straightening her back and pushing her breasts forward with a hand on her hip. She had a plain kind prettiness and he guessed she had not worked in the streets long as she still conveyed a certain wholesomeness.

Greeting him as he neared, he replied that it was not a night for a pretty flower such as her to be standing around in shop doorways. She laughed nervously when he said she must be cautious of the people she might meet undertaking such pursuits. When he offered her liquor from a metal flask she accepted the warming drink gratefully and said she had a place they could go from some privacy.

It was not far and they walked in silence, soon coming to a building of run down private apartments. The interior was poorly lit and they climbed the stairs to the second floor where she turned the key to her door.

Once inside he offered more drink and she took it. She seemed happy to talk. Between the alcohol and his silence she kept going as they removed the outer layers of their clothing. When she asked where he was from he told her from the east. She had moved to the city from her village two months earlier. Her husband had been a soldier and was killed fighting in a distant war. Their daughter, living with grandparents, was sick and required medicine. He thought she seemed lonely and was still grieving.

Guessing the price of her comfort and offering a little more, he put the money on the table. She moved over to the chair in which he was sitting and began to kiss his neck. Standing over him her breasts hung before his face and he moved his hand up her stockinged leg, under her dress and towards her thigh.

He asked her the name of her village and that of her daughter. She asked him if he was shy and he replied that he was only a little upset at what he was about to do. She stopped kissing him to laugh and said he need not worry, that she would take care of him.

He pulled her onto his lap and could tell that she wanted him. Her passion grew as his hand worked between her legs. She removed her breasts from her dress and kissed his lips.

When he was confident she was consumed with proceedings he placed a hand on her jaw and turned her head to the side. Moving his kisses from her breasts to her neck, she didn’t have time to scream as he sank his teeth into the vein in her neck and wrenched her head around on itself with a gruesome snap. The warm blood flowed over his tongue as he drank greedily while her heart’s pumping became weaker. Finishing, he moved her head and saw her face frozen in a final expression of fear and surprise, eyes wide. The blood had drained from her lips. He closed her eyes and wiped his mouth with the sleeve of her top.

He lay her on the bed and placed her breasts inside her dress. “Death is not the end,” he said to her lifeless body, almost whispering. Blowing out the room’s candles he put on his coat and hat and walked out onto the street.

My Love is a 2006 paint-on-glass-animated short film directed by Aleksandr Petrov, based on A Love Story (1927) by Ivan Shmelyov. I think it is the best animation film I have ever seen. Pure inspiration. A masterpiece.

I am facing my first Christmas without my father. I think I have coped well the last two months. It didn’t hit me until I came back home. All the decorations had been put away that we had just had a huge loss. The grieving process then began again. It’s sad knowing I will never get to experience Christmas with him again. Though it is sad, I’m happy for my dad. I am sure he is in a better place now. On Christmas Eve I thought of all the good times I had with him instead of dwelling on the fact that he is gone, he is still with us in spirit and he loves us very dearly. I made this video on Christmas Eve for him. I love you Dad.

I must see new things and investigate them. I want to taste dark water and see crackling trees and wild winds. I want to gaze with astonishment at moldy garden fences. I want to experience them all, to hear young birch plantations and trembling leaves, to see light and sun, enjoy wet, green-blue valleys in the evening, sense goldfish glinting, see white clouds building up in the sky, to speak to flowers.
