Suburban Outfitters

This Tuesday morning felt like a Monday morning, actually felt even worse as I have been suffering from flu since a few days. I'm much better today but i still have a blocked ear and a running nose which are the most annoying things ever. With this conditions running, it's quite difficult to rise and shine. I've always found thought that a good episode of ''Good Morning World'' can do the trick. Watch it.

I recently loved the video from the latest photo shooting of my favorite shop ''Urban Outfitters'': a bunch of beautiful people, a hillside bathed in evening sun, kites, brightly colored and shaped ever so simply, childlike, a song by M83 created all these ingredients together a very sweet vid! The landscape reminds me easily the place where i live. The video inspired me yesterday to spend an hour from my afternoon in my garden taking photos.

I was doing the job, not listening to M83, but the Strokes. Actually i was listening just a song! i heard it about 20 times! lol ''what ever happened''. I'm sure it happened to you as well: to hear the exact same song more than 2-3 times in a row. A real magnetism lies in Casablancas' voice that you can't recist. I will be the happiest person in the world when the recording studio time will be booked for the Band!

Little Cristina here was came out at the end to explain me that her grandma (my mum), has bought the flowers we have in the garden from England and Russia!!!! If you say so...

Finally the official video of the best song of 2008. I made my own long time ago. Cristina was in it!

MGMT VS President Sarkozy

Πριν 2 μέρες, και ενώ βρισκόμουν ακόμη στο Λονδίνο, είχα διαβάσει μια συνταρακτική είδηση: Oι ΜGMT, ζητούν αποζημίωση από τον πρόεδρο της Γαλλίας Νικόλα Σαρκοζί, για το γεγονός του οτι χρησιμοποίησε το κομμάτι ''Kids'' as a campaign soundtrack, χωρίς να πάρει πρωτίστως την άδεια του συγκροτήματος. Καταρχάς το γεγονός, οτι τα τραγούδια των MGMT, συγκίνησαν τον πρόεδρο της Γαλλίας ή έστω την ομάδα που επέλεξε τα κομμάτια, με κάνει απλά να θαυμάζω την κυβέρνηση του κυρίου Σαρκοζί! Οι Γάλλοι φαίνεται πως έχουν για πρόεδρο ένα πολύ cool πρόεδρο.

ΑΛΛΑ!

Για την χρήση του τραγουδιού ο κύριος Σαρκοζί πρόσφερε στην μπάντα το 'υπέρογκο' ποσό των 0.89 σεντ, πράξη την οποία η γαλλίδα δικηγόρος του συγκροτήματος, Isabelle Wekstein, θεώρησε προσβλητική. Σύμφωνα με τη Wekstein, το UMP πλήρωσε τυποποιημένα 53 ευρο- αμοιβή στο γαλλικό εξουσιοδοτημένο σώμα μουσικής SACEM, το οποίο (ποσό) όμως δεν κάλυπτε τη χρήση του κομματιού στο διαδίκτυο. Και όλα αυτά συμβαίνουν μια βδομάδα πριν η γαλλική βουλή ξεκινήσει να συζητά την ώθηση πιο αυστηρών μέτρων και νόμων, προκειμένου να μειωθεί η πειρατεία στη μουσική!

Ναι μεν είναι μια λανθασμένη ενέργεια απο μέρους του Γάλλου προέδρου, αλλά αν ήμουν οι MGMT, η πράξη αυτή θα μέ έβρησκε σίγουρα κολακευμένη.

Little Misses Sunshine

Yesterday i was watching videos that we made with my little adorable nieces and i realized, how much i missed them. I Have to say-without any trace of exaggeration- that my nieces are the coolest kids in the world: They really love to listen MGMT, Gnarls Barkley, M.I.A, Santogold, Los Campesinos, The Tings Tings and The Late of the Pier (i told you, are so cool)!. Of course they listen to children songs, like all the other kids in their age, but when they come to my house they are always demanding to listen something quite out of the ordinary!

The day i recorded this video we were listening to the Ting Ting song ''That's not my Name''. They are really obsessed with this song, even if i try to explain them that they shouldn't be any more, because the song has become so popular and boring at the same time!! This video preceded intensive courses to learn the fantastic choreography. From the result you can say that i am a brilliant dance teacher!!!! (Oh, yes I am)!

Yesterday i decided to re-edit the video, so i chose one of my favorite songs ''Kids'' by MGMT. When i saw the video at the end it made me cry: were my kiddos, were the lyrics and the music. Well i guess i have to stop being so sensitive!
