We only live Once

Monday, 11 October 2010

When i said ' I can see me in your eyes',
You said 'I can see you in my bed',
That's not just friendship that's romance too,
You like music we can dance to
Sit me down,
Shut me up,
I'll calm down,
And I'll get along with you

Too Late?Meh!

Tuesday, 23 March 2010

Hey how the devil are you?I must apologize. A few very busy days have meant that the blog has taken some time on the side. The current post was saved to drafts for three months for many reasons. Well better never than late right?

Overall, 2009 has brought an excellent variety of memorable albums and after rummaging through countless hours of music this year, it’s now time to wrap it up here with my belated final year-end list.

*Photos By Me and Fran

Number 1: The Horror-Primary Colours
The album that soundtracked my year
The album that brought everything full circle
The album that showed the future
Favorite track:Do you remember

Number 2: The XX-XX
One of the new bands of late to write an actual album that graps you from start to finish.
Favorite track: Heart Skipped A Beat

Number 3: The Phoenix-Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
The best thing to come out of France since the croissant
Favorite Track: Rome

Number 4: Arctic Monkeys-Humbug
It's the time of the year where NME makes me lose a tiny bit of faith, when NME Awards shortlist is revealed. Why is AM' ''Humbug being allowed to make the shortlist for worst album. I agree it's miles away from ''Whatever people Say'', but it's still lyrically deft as ever and has some incredible riffs, surely making it one of the fav albums of 2009
Favorite Track: Dance Little Liar

Number 5: The Drums-Summertime! EP
I have no photos for this one, cause i haven't bought the album yet!!! You'd wonder where to go after something as perfect as the ''Summertime'' EP, wouldn't you? Well that's why the Drums are on top of the world with their perfect preppy haircuts.
Favorite Track: Submarine

Number 6:
Julian Casablancas-Phrazes for the Young
None of the can be first without the rest. End of story. Glass though has made it to be my favorite song of 2009. Hell YES!

Number 7: Grizzly Bear-Veckatimest
I found it to be the most cathartic and a emotional album of the year. Sometimes though you need the test of the time to confirm whether an album is one that you really love. Well i think that Veckatimest will pass with flying colours!
Favorite track: Foreground

Number 8: The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart-The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart
It feels as if my Bloody Valentine forgot to release a late 80s album. The song ''this love is fucking right'' has soundtracked my trip to London. Skipping the sister part the song could have written for Me and Him.Favorite Track: This Love is Fucking right

Number 9: Girls-Album
Was the band that made me want like crazy to go to San Francisco. It's the album you can listen to when you're sad or happy or driving to work on a rainy Monday morning. The album itself is beautiful. It's heavy and it's about death, life, family, friends, lovers and all the important stuff. Thanks Girls.
Favorite Track: Lust For Life

Number 10: Yeah Yeah Yeahs-It's Blitz!
Long beloved by those who believe Brooklyn to be the center of the cultural universe, i'm not one of them. For me London is that place. Nevertheless 2009 was the year YYYs finally shook off their art-rock trappings. My indie hipsters have flew that disco Flag with success.
Favorite Track: Soft Shock

Number 11: Bombay Bicycle Club- I had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose
Too often it's bands with gimmicks or crap haircuts that grab attention, but for once a band that has written great songs and played amazing gigs has triumphed.Yey!
Favorite Track: Always like this

Number 12: Merriweather Post Pavillion,
Animal Collective always fitted uncomfortably in my playlist, but listening hard to Merriweather Post Pavillion, focus on each sound, analyze it, pull it apart then i realized that i can't live without it. Masterpiece!
Favorite Track: Brothersport

Suburban Outfitters

Tuesday, 9 June 2009

This Tuesday morning felt like a Monday morning, actually felt even worse as I have been suffering from flu since a few days. I'm much better today but i still have a blocked ear and a running nose which are the most annoying things ever. With this conditions running, it's quite difficult to rise and shine. I've always found thought that a good episode of ''Good Morning World'' can do the trick. Watch it.

I recently loved the video from the latest photo shooting of my favorite shop ''Urban Outfitters'': a bunch of beautiful people, a hillside bathed in evening sun, kites, brightly colored and shaped ever so simply, childlike, a song by M83 created all these ingredients together a very sweet vid! The landscape reminds me easily the place where i live. The video inspired me yesterday to spend an hour from my afternoon in my garden taking photos.

I was doing the job, not listening to M83, but the Strokes. Actually i was listening just a song! i heard it about 20 times! lol ''what ever happened''. I'm sure it happened to you as well: to hear the exact same song more than 2-3 times in a row. A real magnetism lies in Casablancas' voice that you can't recist. I will be the happiest person in the world when the recording studio time will be booked for the Band!

Here i'm sharing some worth sharing photos that i took yesterday ^_^

Little Cristina here was came out at the end to explain me that her grandma (my mum), has bought the flowers we have in the garden from England and Russia!!!! If you say so...

Finally the official video of the best song of 2008. I made my own long time ago. Cristina was in it!
