Lashings of Loveliness

Saturday 4 April 2009

The sun was beating down from above and at last we felt heat, natural heat. The air was still and I could almost see the plants stretch out and rejoice, but the most important, i went to TESCO with a short sleeve t-shirt! Harrey! My kids were weather forecasters at school today, it was fun. It was fun when they started arguing about which tv show is better: EastEnders (very popular British Soap Opera) or Friends. I was trying to tell them not to waste their time watching soap operas, but only Lia seemed to listen. Then i remembered that when i was their age i was watching Rosalinda, which is much worse than watching EastEnders.

Lia (photo by me)

''Kyriaaa, I'm Phoebe...Phoebe is weird, I'm weird too!''

I had to correct Lia in that Point that Phoebe is not weird, she is naïve and innocent, a wise generous and funny person. ''For these reasons you are allowed to be Phoebe's character Lia''.

I returned back home knackered and only one thing could save the situation: Listen to new Bat for Lashes, which i download from Torrents two days ago (i promise to buy the album as soon will be released). Since then i can't stop listening to it: ''Two suns'' is epic in scope and ambition and requires a similarly epic patience to unravel its charms, is at its heart a brilliant pop album. Natasha Khan was everywhere in 2007: She toured with Radiohead, played Glastonbury, was nominated for a Mercury Prize, became a unique fashion icon, But more importantly, Fur And Gold, an amazingly amazing and strangely strange album. I can tell though that the new one is twice as nice, look even Kanye is a fan, that's quite cool. This man sometimes surprises me. He is totally retarded but blogging about Natasha is a big bonus for Kanye!

Ιnitiated into mystical indie rock, listening to her hauntingly beautiful songs, i felt asleep. As a master story teller Natasha took me on an imaginary trip through animal kingdoms and magical dream sequences.

I woke up after four hours to discovered something really delightfull while i was surfing on Flickr's pages: I came across a gay couple from Canada. Photos are totally emotional and romantic. Is always good to see love meet art! One of my favorite combos.
