Suburban Outfitters

Tuesday, 9 June 2009

This Tuesday morning felt like a Monday morning, actually felt even worse as I have been suffering from flu since a few days. I'm much better today but i still have a blocked ear and a running nose which are the most annoying things ever. With this conditions running, it's quite difficult to rise and shine. I've always found thought that a good episode of ''Good Morning World'' can do the trick. Watch it.

I recently loved the video from the latest photo shooting of my favorite shop ''Urban Outfitters'': a bunch of beautiful people, a hillside bathed in evening sun, kites, brightly colored and shaped ever so simply, childlike, a song by M83 created all these ingredients together a very sweet vid! The landscape reminds me easily the place where i live. The video inspired me yesterday to spend an hour from my afternoon in my garden taking photos.

I was doing the job, not listening to M83, but the Strokes. Actually i was listening just a song! i heard it about 20 times! lol ''what ever happened''. I'm sure it happened to you as well: to hear the exact same song more than 2-3 times in a row. A real magnetism lies in Casablancas' voice that you can't recist. I will be the happiest person in the world when the recording studio time will be booked for the Band!

Here i'm sharing some worth sharing photos that i took yesterday ^_^

Little Cristina here was came out at the end to explain me that her grandma (my mum), has bought the flowers we have in the garden from England and Russia!!!! If you say so...

Finally the official video of the best song of 2008. I made my own long time ago. Cristina was in it!

While the camels are resting

I watched the film ''The Kite Runner'' recently and i have to tell that it's still haunting me! I never read the book, but i heard that the film was better! I still have to read it though to have my own opinion! The film reveals the true Afghanistan-Life: the truly pain of those people trapped in Afghanistan and have have to endure every single day of their lives.

my favorite scene of the film

From Asia to Africa! I am proudly presenting my last discovery. My new love has the name Tinariwen which is a band formed in 1982 of Tuareg people. They recently performed at the Coachella music Festival and are truly brilliant. While everybody else is choosing A class drugs and fancy clothes to get attention, this band of nomads are keeping music in the way it should be: original and decent. They more than deserve a listen!

Incidently the image today came from here. No idea how i stumbled on this one! ^_^

It's time to cover our shoulders in Primary colours

Monday, 1 June 2009

There is so much I dislike about leisure time. It might sounds weird, but i love to keep myself busy, it takes me away from any vice it may throw my way. Being really busy kept me from blogging quite so much though :(. I will find time, because i missed so much sharing things with you and this is my chance to apologize for being an irresponsible blogger.

The last 1 1/2 month i' ve listening to the best album of 2009 (in my poor opinion) ''Primary colors'' by the British very indie rock band ''The Horrors''. I have to admit that i only like 2-3 songs from Horrors' noisy debut album. I find it a weird experience to listening to this album. It takes the best bits from Velvet Underground, Cure, Joy Division, Mary Chain, Sex Pistols and and a lot of other great bands, to be a suberb psychedelic album. I used to listen it day and night with my man, and it's a bit odd to listen it without him now, but what to do, we chose the hard way! The Horrors' new album is available to listen for free on NME.COM.
Me and Fran made our video clip for the song ''Sea within the sea'' which i have to add that it was selected as one of the great videos on VIMEO, which is kinda cool! ain't it? hahhh

The scenario of this t-shirt makes me laugh! Epic!

Talking about indie bands i feel proud to tell that i saw the brothers Gallagher live in Caracas and they were amazing. Everybody thinks that Oasis is a bunch of arrogant cunts, but i have to say that they are so good that they are allowed to be as rude and arrogant they want to!
Here are some photos from the Big gig taken by me and Fran.
